A letter from Gary Guillemot

Humans,

This is your Guillemot speaking, and at this time we’ve lit the “fasten seatbelt” sign. And you’ll need to buckle up because if past presidential election years are any indication, this’ll be an “s” storm, and the “s” doesn’t stand for “sunshine”.

The election season has been thrills, chills, and spills, with one presidential candidate who wasn’t very interesting until he evaporated on national TV, to then be replaced with an altogether more exciting and historic choice. In the other corner, we have the same old “Democracy depends on his losing” situation we’ve seen since 2016, which would be boring if it wasn’t so true.

What can one do?

We say, go get cozy in your nest with coffee and a nice fresh fish, and enjoy this latest episode of the Guillemot Guide. Hopefully it gives you a reference when you’re deciding how to vote to nudge the world in one direction or another. Or at very least, hopefully our snark becomes your inner peace.

Be kind to each other and to yourself in this season.

—Gary Guillemot

Your voice counts

In a time of voter suppression, we need to “use it or lose it.” Ballots are mailed to voters by October 20, 2023. Contact your county elections office if you don’t get your ballot.

You must mail your ballot (no stamp needed in WA!), or drop it in a ballot drop box, by Tuesday, November 7th at 8pm. Please vote early so that the final count will be available sooner.
